Art for Our Lady

We always have such fun with the ATC swaps that Kimberlee at Pondered in my Heart hosts. Now it's time for another one, the Marian ATC Swap 2012.

I have a functioning scanner now, so I'm excited to get to share our cards when we get them done. We just started working through the book Discovering Great Artists, and used this coloring page to paint the Madonna and Child in powdered tempera paints mixed with egg yolk.

We also did some free painting. It might be a good medium to try some cards in, although I think we'll need smaller brushes.

Why don't you try it out? It's lovely to take a little time to create something beautiful, and seeing the kids work on their own art, reading all of the different posts sharing the ATCs, getting your own in the mail, maybe making a few new friends, it's all so fun! Kimberlee has links to previous swaps and ideas for inspiration.
